Palmer Report: Donald Trump was talking adoption with Putin while everyone else at G20 was talking about John Podesta

Donald Trump has reached a level of mental derangement and mental incapacity that’s not only never before been seen in the Oval Office, it’s arguably never before been seen in human history. It’s not just that during his New York Times interview he began talking about Adolf Hitler for no apparent reason and then declared that he was having a good time. No, all we have to do is look at the two disparate claims he’s made about what was being discussed at the G20 summit.

When the G20 first kicked off, Donald Trump tweeted that “Everyone here is talking about why John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. Disgraceful!” (link). This tells us that he was wandering up foreign leaders and telling them some nonsense about John Podesta of all people, as they pretended to know or care what the hell he was talking about, and then he took their feigned interest as a sign that they were as obsessed with the topic as he was.

And now here’s how Donald Trump is explaining away his surreptitious second G20 meeting with Vladimir Putin: “It was not a long conversation, but it was, you know, could be 15 minutes. Just talked about things. Actually, it was very interesting, we talked about adoption.” It was actually more than an hour by all accounts. And while it may have included a discussion about the Magnitsky Act as it relates to U.S. sanctions against Russia, it certainly wasn’t a conversation about adoption.

But in Donald Trump’s deluded and hallucinatory and broken mind, everyone else at the G20 summit was running around talking about John Podesta’s email server, while only he and Putin had to good sense to discuss adoption instead. And he appears to truly believe these things happened. God help us all.

The post Donald Trump was talking “adoption” with Putin while everyone else at G20 was talking about “John Podesta” appeared first on Palmer Report.

Senate Judiciary Committee goes after Donald Trump Jr.s communications with Jill Stein

The Senate Judiciary Committee has sent a letter to Donald Trump Jr. officially asking him to testify in public hearings next week, and to turn over all of his relevant documents and communications. The letter names several specific people that he may have communicated with. They’re Trump campaign advisers, Trump family associates, and prominent Russian figures. But right in the middle of the demand list is the name Jill Stein. Wait, what?

That’s right, the Senate Judiciary is now demanding to see Donald Trump Jr.’s communications with former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein. She’s right there on the list between Michael Flynn and Michael Cohen. No specific reason is given as to why the committee wants Trump Jr. to turn over his communications with Stein, or why it thinks he communicated with Stein. But this may be a bombshell, because it strongly points to the committee which has access to classified evidence knowing something about Stein that we don’t.

All that’s publicly known about Jill Stein’s involvement is that she shared a dinner table with Vladimir Putin and Michael Flynn at Russia Today banquet in Moscow in late 2015. Palmer Report called on Stein back in February to come forward as a material witness (link). The photograph of the three of them at the dinner table has long been social media conspiracy fodder, but aside from that photo, there has never been any evidence that Stein was involved in the Trump-Russia plot to rig the election. And the inclusion of her name in this letter doesn’t mean she’s being accused of any crime. But the Senate Judiciary Committee sure seems to know something that we don’t.

You can find Jill Stein’s name right here on page two of the letter that the committee sent to Donald Trump Jr. (link), but the letter contains no further clues as to why the Senate seems to believe Trump Jr. and Stein may have been communicating. Jill Stein has not yet made any public statement about the inclusion of her name in the Senate letter.

The post Senate Judiciary Committee goes after Donald Trump Jr.’s communications with Jill Steinappeared first on Palmer Report.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is on resignation watch

With the walls caving in around him, Donald Trump has decided to throw his friend Jeff Sessions to the wolves. Trump has publicly ripped into Sessions, saying he now regrets having hired him as Attorney General to begin with. And now one major respected political pundit says we’re officially on “resignation watch” when it comes to Jeff Sessions.

Trump spoke with the New York Times and insisted that Jeff Sessions’ decision to recuse himself from the Trump-Russia investigation was “very unfair to the president.” That’s right, Trump is now referring to himself as “the president” in the third person. But then Trump goes on to get uglier about it: “Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else” (link). And now MSNBC host Rachel Maddow says to be on the lookout for whether Sessions resigns tonight.

Maddow pointed out during her show that during normal times, this kind of public quote from the President of the United States about the Attorney General would almost certainly result in an immediate resignation. But as she also said, these are not normal times. As Palmer Report pointed out earlier this evening, Trump now seems intent on alienating one of the few allies he has left in politics (link). Sessions also likely has the dirt necessary to take Trump down over his Russia scandal, if Sessions were to choose to go that route to protect his own legal interests.

So now we see whether Attorney General Jeff Sessions ends up resigning tonight. It would be a bodyblow to what’s left of Donald Trump’s failed administration. What’s remarkable here is that Trump seems to be hoping out of spite that Sessions will resign, even if that ends up being bad news for Trump himself.

The post Attorney General Jeff Sessions is on “resignation watch” appeared first on Palmer Report.

Donald Trump is now attacking his own administration, including Jeff Sessions

President tells New York Times he wouldnt have hired attorney general had he known hed recuse himself from Russia inquiry, because its extremely unfair

Donald Trump has unleashed an extraordinary barrage of criticism against several of his own top officials, accusing senior members of the Department of Justice (DoJ) of having conflicts of interest and expressing regret that he had appointed Jeff Sessions as US attorney general.
