Palmer Report: Donald Trumps tweet plunges Saudi Arabian government into regime-changing chaos
Donald Trump just departed on a twelve day overseas trip to Asia. His staff is able to regularly supervise him during these trips, limiting his ability to sneak off and post a mentally incompetent Twitter meltdown. But he did manage to fire off a cryptic tweet on Saturday morning which seemed oddly specific: “Would very much appreciate Saudi Arabia doing their IPO of Aramco with the New York Stock Exchange. Important to the United States!” In the hours since, the government of Saudi Arabia has plunged itself into total chaos and this can’t be a coincidence. Just hours later, CNBC reported that the royal family of Saudi Arabia arrested one of its own wealthiest and most influential members, Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, who has invested his money heavily in American companies (link). Others were also ousted from governmental power, as the Crown Prince looks to seize full control over the nation, in what amounts to a partial regime change. Trump’s tweet was some kind of signal to the Crown Prince and Jared Kushner’s secret visit to Saudi Arabia now sticks out like a sore thumb. Kushner took the trip without the public knowing, and when the media subsequently asked about it, Trump’s White House declined to provide a satisfactory answer. Harvard Law Professor Laurene Tribe characterized Prince Alwaleed’s arrest in this manner: “This is the prince who stiffed Jared on his recent secret mission to Saudi, where of course Putin & Trump are in cahoots.” The company Trump referenced in his tweet, Aramco, is the official government-owned oil company of Saudi Arabia. So the timeline now looks like this: Jared Kushner secretly traveled to Saudi Arabia and asked Prince Alwaleed to bail out his sinking personal fortunes. Alwaleed refused. One week later Donald Trump publicly invited the Saudi Arabian government to launch its IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. Hours later, the Saudi Arabian government arrested the Prince who had just refused to bail out Kushner. And because everything about Trump relates to Russia, Saudi Arabia just announced a major new oil deal with Russia. Palmer Report: As Robert Mueller closes in, Donald Trump announces one last desperate move involving Vladimir Putin
It was the worst kept secret, because Donald Trump has gone far too senile to keep a secret, and kept publicly hinting at it. Now, one day after he departed for his twelve day overseas trip in Asia, Trump’s White House is making it official in a press release (link): he’ll be meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his Asia trip. The official excuse is to discuss North Korea but we all know damn well what this is really about. When the week began, Special Counsel Robert Mueller arrested Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort and campaign adviser Rick Gates on criminal charges, while also announcing he already had a guilty plea from Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos. This set off a chaotic chain of events in which Trump campaign official Sam Clovis testified before a grand jury, Trump campaign adviser Carter Page voluntarily confessed to meeting with Russian officials during the election, and pretty much everyone asserted that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has been lying about the Trump-Russia conspiracy the entire time. We all know why Donald Trump is suddenly meeting with Vladimir Putin. In fact it’s now fair to ask if Trump’s entire Asia trip was put together as nothing more than an excuse to get Trump and Putin in a room alone together. That way they can discuss how to handle the Trump-Russia scandal that’s suddenly become a Trump-Russia crisis. Manafort is a Russian financial puppet who could expose all of Putin’s dealings. Manafort also knows all of Trump’s secrets. This meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin is now set to be one of the key moments of this entire saga and perhaps of the century. The corrupt and illegitimate leaders of the United States and Russia will be desperately plotting to try to save themselves as everything collapses around them. Stay tuned. Palmer Report: George Papadopoulos isnt the only Trump-Russia player whos cut a deal with Robert Mueller
At the start of this week, it was revealed that former Donald Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos had cut a deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller. That’s not what should scare Trump the most. If Trump has enough marbles left to even understand what’s going on at this point, he’s truly scared because he’s figured out that Papadopoulos isn’t the only one. Mueller had the FBI arrest Papadopoulos all the way back in June. That means Mueller was able to pull off an indictment, secret arrest, guilty plea, detailed confession, release, and ongoing cooperation in exchange for a minimal sentence although without any of it becoming public until he chose to announce it this week. Furthermore, Mueller only revealed the Papadopoulos deal because it was strategically aligned with Paul Manafort’s arrest. More importantly, the Papadopoulos deal only gives Mueller a finite number of avenues for flipping people higher up the food chain. The confession allows Mueller to seek deals with Manafort, Sam Clovis, and Jeff Sessions but those are only three names out of several key players. Mueller can’t use Papadopoulos to get to Michael Flynn, or Jared Kushner, or Donald Trump Jr, or any of a number of other people. Instead he needs to flip other small fish in order to move on them and we know that in at least one instance, he already has. Last Friday, former CIA Director James Woolsey revealed to the media that he’s been cooperating with Robert Mueller in the criminal case against Michael Flynn. The story was then buried a few hours later when it surfaced that arrests were imminent. But it’s clear that Woolsey – who was a bit player in the Trump campaign has either formally or informally cut a deal with Mueller. It probably doesn’t stop at Woolsey, either. Mueller has surely already flipped small fish under each of the key players, and he’s keeping it all under wraps until it’s time for the arrest of those key players. Palmer Report: Donald Trumps allies reveal they know hes finished
When alleged career criminal Paul Manafort was informed that he was eventually going to be indicted and arrested in the Trump-Russia scandal, he didn’t suddenly try to straighten up his act. Instead he took a high paying overseas consulting job, which seemed remarkably similar to the gigs that got him into legal trouble to begin with, in an attempt to land one more big payday before he had to hunker down and fight a prolonged battle against impending criminal charges. Manafort’s logic must have been that if he was going down for his past actions then there was nothing he could do to prevent it, and he might as well cash in one last time, so he’ll have the money waiting for him if he somehow beats the rap. There’s a lesson in there about how people like Paul Manafort tend to behave when they think they’re about to be finished. It informs us that Donald Trump’s other allies, the important ones around the world who pull his strings, are accelerating their own plans because they think that Trump is about to be finished. Last night the crown prince of Saudi Arabia had eleven of his fellow princes arrested on what appear to be bogus corruption charges, including the wealthy and powerful Prince Alwaleed, in an aggressive power grab. Last weekend, Jared Kushner took a secret trip to Saudi Arabia. Just hours before the arrests began, Donald Trump posted a tweet about the IPO of a Saudi Arabian government oil company. We don’t know what role Trump and Kushner played in the palace coup but from their actions it’s clear they had some role in it. The sudden actions of the Saudi Arabian crown prince seemed rushed and hasty, as if he’d been planning it all along but suddenly concluded that he’d better hurry up and go through with it before Donald Trump is finished. It’s the weakness and complicity of Trump that allows these kinds of naked aggression to play out in foreign countries. They’re now suddenly taking their best ambitious shots, revealing that they know Trump is finished. Now we see what Vladimir Putin does next, as he too inevitably concludes Trump’s time is increasingly short.
