As the Trump-Russia scandal explodes, Donald Trump panics and calls up Vladimir Putin

The White House has announced that Donald Trump had an hour-plus long phone call today with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is a remarkable development, considering that the two men just finished meeting privately in Vietnam a mere ten days ago, and should have reasonably been able to discuss any above-board business they needed to discuss. That tells us that todays phone call was entirely about trying to find a way to survive the Trump-Russia scandal.

The official White House press release is titled Readout of President Donald J. Trumps Call with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia but it contains no readout or transcript of anything that either man said during the phone call. Instead it consists of nothing more than three paragraphs generically claiming that Trump and Putin discussed the same world issues that they already discussed ten days ago (link). In other words, Trumps people dont want us knowing what was really discussed. However, its not difficult to figure out.

In the ten days since Trump and Putin last spoke, several new bombshells have landed in the Trump-Russia scandal. Last week it was revealed that Donald Trump Jr had been coordinating with Russian controlled cyberterrorist site WikiLeaks throughout the general election a leak that seemed to have come from Putin himself, as a warning shot to Trump over his failure to get Russian sanctions lifted. Then another leak surfaced over the weekend which revealed that Donald Trump Jr had met with a suspected Russian mobster during the election.

Our best guess is that Donald Trump called Vladimir Putin today to beg him to stop going after his son. We have no way of knowing how that phone call went. However, we do know that Trump has absolutely no ability to get those sanctions lifted. Thats a problem for Trump, because sanctions have been Putins number one priority all along. Look for the ugly leaks about Donald Trump Jr to continue.

Donald Trumps handlers have him trapped in an oblivious bubble as Robert Mueller takes him apart

In Donald Trump’s imaginary universe, Special Counsel Robert Mueller is about to wrap up his Trump-Russia investigation and he has no intention of pursuing Trump himself. That sounds completely ludicrous to anyone who’s been following the investigation and who knows what’s really going on. But it turns out there’s a reason Trump believes such nonsense: it’s precisely what the sycophants around him are telling him is going on.

Donald Trump’s attorney is selling his client a fantasy about how the investigation will be over soon, according to a new Vanity Fair profile (link). This means, in effect, that the attorney is no longer even trying to mount a defense for Trump, or protect him from what’s coming. In fairness to the attorney, Trump is so screwed that it’s not clear that any attempted legal strategy would get anywhere. And Trump, being a narcissist, would instinctively rather have an attorney who tells him he’s winning, than an attorney who tells him he’s losing and wants to discuss how to minimize the inevitable bad ending.

That same Vanity Fair piece paints Donald Trump’s White House advisers as working to keep Trump inside that same oblivious bubble. They surely have their reasons for that as well. If they clue him in to how screwed he is, he’s so unstable that he’s likely to erupt and lash out in a manner which brings the entire administration crashing down all the more quickly, thus putting his advisers out of work that much sooner.

In addition, Donald Trump has exposed most of these advisers to such serious crimes, such as conspiracy to obstruct justice, that they’re going to have to cut deals against him and they know it. Better to convince him to keep his head in the sand in the meantime. Trump has surrounded himself, by choice, with the worst possible people he could find. Now they’re failing to protect him as he’s being taken down. One could argue that they deserve each other.

Revealed: Robert Muellers probe into Trump and his cronies runs far deeper and wider than we ever imagined

For months, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s work in the Trump-Russia investigation has played out largely in the background. When it comes to the true scope and breadth of his probe, we’ve all had to wait for occasional clues to fall to us like dogs awaiting scraps from the table. However, every once in awhile a detail surfaces which helps fill in the gaps. This time around, that detail is so strikingly out of context that it shows this investigation to be vastly more sophisticated than even the most fervent of anti-Trump people were hoping.

For reasons known only to him, Robert Mueller is investigating the role that Donald Trump’s son-in-law played in a United Nations vote about Israel during the transition period, according to a new Wall Street Journal report (link). Good luck figuring out why, because there’s no context for this new revelation, and we’ve gotten nothing up to this point that would help us understand it. Simply put: Mueller knows things we don’t.

Whenever something has occasionally leaked from Mueller’s camp, it’s usually only because he strategically wants it to leak, and only after he already has a complete handle on the situation. In other words, he believes he already has Jared Kushner nailed on whatever supposed or alleged crime is involved with this United Nations vote and now he wants Kushner to know that he knows. The end goal here is to force Kushner to cut a deal against Donald Trump, and we’re now seeing this strategy play out.

Moreover, if Robert Mueller is taking this kind of ultra-comphrehensive approach to investigating and pursuing an underling like Kushner, it means he’s taking every bit as detailed of an approach when it comes to pursuing Donald Trump. In other words, by the time we see a headline about Mueller pursuing Trump for money laundering or conspiracy against the United States, it’ll mean that Mueller believes he already has Trump nailed on those crimes. This probe runs far deeper than we ever imagined and it’s progressed far ahead of where we thought.

Donald Trump, Robert Mercer, and a Russian oligarch reportedly all arrive in Palm Beach

This tune is becoming all too familiar to anyone who’s been paying close attention. Shortly after it was publicly announced that Donald Trump would be spending Thanksgiving week at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida, a local newspaper revealed that a Russian oligarch with existing ties to the Trump-Russia scandal had also just arrived in Palm Beach. Now, according to tracking information, Trump’s longtime political financier Robert Mercer has also arrived.

The Palm Beach Post was the first to report that Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich’s private yacht had just docked off the coast of Palm Beach Florida (link). A spokesman claims the yacht is merely in town for “maintenance” and that Abramovich isn’t even on it, so take that for whatever you think it’s worth. But now internet sleuths have used online tracking to determine that Robert Mercer’s yacht has also arrived (link), and is parked about a mile away from Abramovich’s yacht.

So either Trump, Mercer and Abramovich are all in Palm Beach right now for underhanded reasons, or perhaps Trump is there alone, and his pals’ boats keep showing up there for no reason. Mercer is notoriously eccentric and reclusive, so good luck proving or disproving whether or not he’s really in Palm Beach alongside his yacht. Perhaps his boat suddenly needed maintenance as well, because after all, most of that kind of routine maintenance is done during a week in which those kinds of workers would all be off for the Thanksgiving holiday, right? These “coincidences” keep piling up to the point that you need that kind of sarcasm to even recount them all.

Another Russian oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev kept showing up in the same cities as Donald Trump, both before and after the election. Rybolovlev claimed it was all a coincidence. He even provided evidence that he had only visited one of those cities because he had invested in a battery company headquartered in that city. Later, that battery company went bankrupt without having ever materialized into anything. Coincidence again? Rybolovlev had previously bought a Palm Beach mansion from Trump for twice what it was worth, never did live in it, and then bulldozed it. No one knows why.

Oleg Deripaska, the Russian oligarch who financed Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort, had his own private jet sitting on a tarmac at a small airport in New Jersey during the entire week that Manafort was reportedly going to be arrested. Was he providing a getaway vehicle in case Manafort wanted to take it, or was this yet one more bizarre Trump-Russia transportation coincidence? We can only hope we eventually get all these answers.
