1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Palmer Report: Adam Schiff throws down gauntlet against Donald Trump

  •
  •
  •
  •

How scared is Donald Trump of incoming House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff? He recently went so far off the deep end about him, he ended up referring to him as “Adam Schitt.” The reason is pretty straightforward: Schiff is just a few weeks away from launching a subpoena-filled and very public investigation into Trump’s ugliest scandals. Trump’s attempts at intimidation clearly haven’t worked, as Schiff just threw down the gauntlet.

Adam Schiff appeared on ABC This week and flatly stated that “There is now testimony, there is now a witness, who confirms that in the same way Michael Flynn was compromised, that the president and his business are compromised.” This assertion is not to be taken lightly. Flynn’s actions reveal that he was essentially a willing Kremlin asset, as he plotted with the Russian Ambassador during the transition period to try to illegally sabotage U.S. sanctions against Russia, and worse.

Adam Schiff is accusing Donald Trump of being every bit as “compromised” as Flynn. In other words, Schiff is saying that Trump is also a willing Russian asset who has plotted with the Kremlin against the United States. Schiff is a former prosecutor who tends to choose his words carefully. He wouldn’t be saying something like this about Trump unless he’s sitting on a treasure trove of evidence to back it up.

While this week’s revelation about Trump Tower Moscow proves that Donald Trump was plotting with the Russians during the election for financial and political reasons, this barely scratches the surface of what all has become public over the past two years, along with whatever else prosecutors are surely sitting on. Schiff just threw down the gauntlet; we’ll soon find out what he has up his sleeve.

1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Palmer Report: Jerome Corsi tries his Trump-Russia Hail Mary

  •
  •
  •
  •

For a brief moment last week, Jerome Corsi had the Trump-Russia scandal spotlight largely to himself. That quickly faded after Paul Manafort made headlines by screwing up his plea deal, and then Michael Cohen made far bigger headlines by teaming up with Robert Mueller to help expose Trump’s role and motive in the Trump-Russia scandal. Now Corsi is trying to retake the spotlight, and it may be worth paying attention, if only because he tends to give away things that he shouldn’t.

Here’s what Jerome Corsi posted today, after hiring a lawyer who’s better known for far-right stunts than winning criminal cases: “I have reviewed today and APPROVED the CRIMINAL COMPLAINT my attorneys Larry Klayman and David Gray are filing tomorrow, Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, w Acting AG Whitaker, DOJ IG Horowitz & others.” So why does this matter?

Corsi went on to say that he’ll be publicly posting the complaint at 9am tomorrow on his website. So tomorrow we’re about to see Jerome Corsi throw his final Trump-Russia hail mary. He’s already in a reckless enough place that he gave a copy of his own draft indictment to the media, even though it contradicted his own public claims, and appears to incriminate him. So it’s almost a given that his “criminal complaint” is going to include even more relevant information about his role in the Trump-Russia scandal, as well as the roles of people like Roger Stone.

To be clear, this criminal complaint won’t go anywhere. Robert Mueller’s strong moves this week suggest that Matthew Whitaker is afraid of interfering, and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz has already shown that he’s a straight shooter. But we look forward to seeing what Jerome Corsi might end up recklessly telling us about the Trump-Russia scandal in the process.

1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Palmer Report: “Spit on Trump” – Vladimir Putin goes nuclear against his longtime puppet Donald Trump

  •
  •
  •
  •

Yesterday, as the sudden and escalating feud continued to play out between Donald Trump and his puppet master Vladimir Putin, Palmer Report pointed out that Putin had taken things too far for any of it to merely be a choreographed distraction. Now Putin has taken things even further, by proxy, and it’s turned truly ugly. So what’s going on here, and what’s likely to come of it?

It all started when Special Counsel Robert Mueller and Michael Cohen teamed up to expose Donald Trump’s role in the Trump Tower Moscow election plot. Immediately thereafter, Trump announced that he was canceling his planned one-on-one G20 meeting with Putin, and he used Russia’s renewed military aggression against Ukraine as an excuse. Putin then snubbed Trump at the G20 by walking past him and high fiving the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. Then Putin had his spokesperson publicly accuse Trump of having canceled the meeting due to the worsening Trump-Russia scandal back home. Things went further south today. Much further south.

One of Putin’s puppet political pundits is now saying that Russia “should spit on Trump and the United States.” To be clear, this pundit wouldn’t be saying this unless Putin told him to say it. So why is this happening?

We believe Putin is trying to accomplish two things here. First, he’s given up on his original goal of getting multibillion dollar sanctions relief out of Donald Trump, which is clearly never going to happen, and he’s now settling for Plan B, which is to simply damage Trump in a manner which will leave the United States and the West in chaos. Second, Putin is trying to convince his own people that the Trump-Russia scandal is all Trump’s fault, in the hope that Putin will remain insulated from it when Trump meets his downfall.

1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Palmer Report: That eerie silence just got louder

  •
  •
  •
  •

There’s an old saying about how silence can be deafening. It makes no sense on the surface, of course. But an unexpected or untimely silence can end up speaking really loudly. We know that we’re weeks, days, or hours from Robert Mueller and Donald Trump both making big endgame moves. That’s why today has been so perplexing.

We know why Mueller has been silent this weekend. In one sense he’s always silent. Even when he does “speak” it’s through things like court filings or indictments, and those only tend to happen on weekdays, when court is in session. But why is Donald Trump so silent right now? His weekend Twitter meltdowns are hit and miss, but he hasn’t thrown a fit since Tuesday. Yes, he’s been at the G20 summit, and yes, President Bush just passed away. But in the past, those kinds of things haven’t stopped him from erupting online.

In fact Donald Trump was remarkably silent throughout the G20. From the looks of it, Trump seems to have lost the support of Putin at the worst possible time, and other world leaders are treating him like he’s a proverbial dead man walking. Perhaps even the ever-delusional Trump has figured out that it’s truly over for him. After all, the last thing we saw was him prematurely walking off the G20 stage, and muttering “Get me out of here.”

Still, what’s with the silence? Has Donald Trump finally lost his will to keep fighting? Has he run out of gas physically? Has he decided it’s over for him? Will he explode as per usual tomorrow morning? We don’t know. But considering how close we are to the endgame on both sides, the combined silence tonight from Trump and Mueller is surreal – and that silence keeps getting louder.

1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Palmer Report: Devin Nunes is about to get his comeuppance

  •
  •
  •
  •

For the past year and a half we’ve watched House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes bend over backward to try to protect Donald Trump from his Trump-Russia scandal, in increasingly buffoonish and criminal fashion. But it turns out Nunes’ plan was based on the assumption that the GOP would keep the House, or perhaps based on no forward thinking at all, because that plan is rapidly blowing up in his face.

Among numerous other stupid ideas, Devin Nunes decided to bring in a whole bunch of Trump-Russia people and have them testify before the House Intel Committee that they didn’t do anything wrong, so he could push out a report “clearing” all of them, before legitimate investigators like Robert Mueller and the Senate Intel Committee could publish legitimate reports. In so doing, Nunes had these people commit perjury. According to Eric Swalwell, a Democrat on the House Intel Committee, the transcripts of all that testimony are currently locked in the basement of Congress.

Four and a half weeks from now, Adam Schiff will take control of the House Intel Committee, and he and his fellow Democrats on the committee will vote to immediately turn these transcripts over to Robert Mueller. We just saw Robert Mueller’s favorite cooperating witness Michael Cohen plead guilty to having lied to Congress. This wasn’t to punish Cohen; it was to help legally establish Donald Trump’s role in the Trump-Russia election conspiracy.

But when Mueller gets these perjury-filled transcripts from the Trump-Russia players who aren’t cooperating with him, he’s going to swiftly bust them for it. Some of them will immediately cave and cut plea deals against Donald Trump, while others will choose to rot in prison. Either way, because of Devin Nunes’ idiotic plan to have Trump’s people come in and commit perjury, Mueller’s job just got a whole lot easier. So what will happen to Nunes himself?

That’s largely up to Robert Mueller. From where we’re sitting, Devin Nunes’ numerous attempts at sabotaging the Trump-Russia investigation add up to clear cut felony obstruction of justice. But Mueller needs the GOP to stay out of his way while he’s finishing off Donald Trump. Will he risk indicting Nunes, and perhaps rattling the Republican leadership, before he gets to Trump? Or will he save someone like Nunes for after Trump has been taken down?

Only Mueller knows. That said, based on what the House Democrats are now saying, these transcripts aren’t just going to Mueller. They’re also going to be redacted for classified information and then released publicly. Everyone is about to see that Devin Nunes hauled in all these Trump-Russia people and encouraged them to commit perjury. Nunes is about to be torched, politically speaking, by this scandal. His comeuppance begins now. There may be nothing left of him by the time Mueller decides to indict him.

1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Palmer Report: The real reason Donald Trump won’t get pardoned after he’s ousted

  •
  •
  •
  •

As Palmer Report has previously explained, there will never be a president Mike Pence. While Donald Trump continues to react to the news that he will soon be ousted from power, there are still a number of individuals who fear Pence will be given the power to further hurt America. While Trump has already done immense damage to the country, there is no reason to ever believe that Pence would be an improvement.

While Pence continues to hide in the shadows, hoping to escape the coming ouster of his boss, he completely ignores his own history. The only reason that Pence was promoted to Donald Trump’s vice president candidate was due to the orders of a Kremlin agent. It’s been documented that Paul Manafort convinced Trump to select Pence as his second in command.

Marcy Wheeler recently pointed out that “The Trump Organization did not get elected the President of the United States (and while the claims are thin fictions, Trump has claimed to separate himself from the Organization and Foundation). So none of the Constitutional claims about indicting a sitting President, it seems to me, would apply.” Wheeler, an independent journalist who has often opined on the Trump-Russia treason, makes the assertion that “Trump might not be able to take the Nixon — resign for a pardon — deal, because that may not be enough to save his corporate personhood.”

Despite all of Trump’s efforts to subvert democracy, he and his family are not immune to investigation. Once Democrats take control of the House in January, he can be sure that every illegal aspect of his life will be examined. While Trump is likely to put on a confident face, he’s sure to be fearing investigations from Special Counsel Robert Mueller and other prosecutors. Mike Pence can’t pardon Trump if he never becomes president to begin with. With no chance of a Pence pardon, it’s safe to say Trump will only get even more unhinged.
