1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Palmer Report: Donald Trump’s allies reveal just how terrified they are of what Adam Schiff is about to do next

For a multitude of very good reasons, Donald Trump is terrified of Congressman Adam Schiff, and therefore Trump’s group of complicit treason apologists in Congress are also losing their collective minds over what the new Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee has the power to do. Earlier this month, John Solomon, a pro-Trump conspiracy theorist who writes for The Hill, confirmed his concerns about Schiff, stating he “has proven to be his party’s most effective antagonist toward President Trump. And now, with the new powers of being chairman, he is drawing both new weapons and new scrutiny.”

On Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy regurgitated some of Solomon’s propaganda while attacking Schiff. When asked by host Maria Bartiromo about Schiff’s investigation into Trump-Russia treason, McCarthy did not attempt to hide his unhinged disdain for the rule of law, saying “We now find that Adam Schiff met with Glenn Simpson, the co-founder of Fusion GPS, the individual that created that fake dossier, in Aspen, which never has been known to us.”

McCarthy’s inveterate lies did not end there. He went on to say that Schiff “should recuse himself based upon meeting with an individual that’s under, that we’re looking at from creating the Fusion GPS, I mean from Fusion GPS and not even telling us.” So let me get this straight. Wanting to gain further information from someone who has repeatedly provided credible information is somehow wrong, but meeting with untold Russians is supposedly “opposition research?”

Because Jeff Sessions, who actively participated in subverting American democracy, and then repeatedly lied to Congress, was forced to recuse himself from any Trump-Russia matters, McCarthy believes Schiff should also have to recuse himself, and possibly even step down as Chairman, because, why exactly? Apparently, it is because Schiff is getting closer every day to proving Trump and his cronies sold out America to benefit themselves and foreign adversaries. They are clearly terrified of Schiff, and for very good reasons!

Former FBI chief says president believed Russian leader over US security agencies and ‘a crime may have been committed’ over Comey firing

A former FBI acting director has alleged Donald Trump dismissed advice from his own security agencies on the threat posed by North Korea’s missiles, saying “I don’t care. I believe Putin.”

Andrew McCabe made the claims in an interview with 60 Minutes, in which he discussed his tenure at the FBI after James Comey was fired by the president in 2017.

1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Palmer Report: The real story behind Donald Trump’s phony Baku hotel

Donald Trump has apparently discovered the joys of online translation apps and has posted what is probably the first tweet by an American president in the Persian language. Using the hashtag #40YearsofFailure, Trump denounced the corruption and cruelty of the Iranian regime that has brought suffering and misery to its people and has been instrumental in spreading terror around the globe. Throughout his candidacy and also his presidency, Trump has always been a vocal critic of the mullahs, opting for confrontation rather than cooperation when he unilaterally declared the Iran Nuclear Deal null and void. But is Trump, the businessman, as much of an anti-Iranian purist as Trump, the president?

A rather disturbing answer to that question may lie on the shores of the Caspian Sea, in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan. It’s a rather complicated and multi-layered story. The first layer is that in 2012, team Trump officially joined a project to build and develop what was meant to become the Trump International Hotel & Tower in a not-yet-developed part of Baku; a project that has all the markings of a money laundering operation.

The Trump Organization’s partners on the Azerbaijani side were members of the Mammadov family – the family of a wealthy and powerful oligarch who was characterized by a U.S. diplomat as notoriously corrupt, even for Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan, in turn, is generally rated as one of the most corrupt nations in the world.

An article in The New Yorker’s March 13, 2017 issue, entitled “Donald Trump’s Worst Deal”, carefully lays out facts that strongly suggest an involvement of the Trump family business in an operation that appears to be rife with corruption, bribery and money laundering. There are reports of large amounts of cash money changing hands on the site of the tower building, and team Trump has apparently failed to do its due diligence regarding the origin of the funds that went into the project. It seems very possible that the Trump Organization has violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 which places a high degree of liability on U.S. businesses being active in foreign countries.

Given the information about the Mammadovs that is freely available to anyone who wants to take a closer look at this Azerbaijani family, one would have to be willfully blind to assume that doing business with any family member might be a good idea. That is, unless you’re looking for a business partner who is happy to accept your dirty money and launder it for you – perhaps because your country is subject to international sanctions. This is what takes us to the second layer of the story.

The Mammadovs were not only doing business with the Trump Organization – they had other partners as well. In mid-2015, representatives of the Trump family business were informed by the U.S. State Department about the possibility of ties between their Azerbaijani partners and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Regardless of this information, the Trump Organization stayed on the Baku project for about another 18 months before severing ties in December 2016, shortly after the election.

It is hard to imagine that the Special Counsel currently investigating Trump’s many foreign entanglements is unaware of the questions raised by the Trump Organization’s involvement in the Baku project. Perhaps Robert Mueller is saving the best for last in his thorough effort to end a presidency that should never have happened.

1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Palmer Report: Donald Trump seems to think his family is getting arrested any minute now

For of all Donald Trump’s complex neuroses, psychoses, mental defects, deranged moral failings, and just plain weird traits, one of his most easily understandable is his habit of projection. When he’s guilty of something, he accuses his adversaries of the same thing. When he thinks something is about to happen to him, he calls for it to happen to his adversaries.

One of Donald Trump’s biggest remaining apologists is radio host and cartoon demon Rush Limbaugh. He appeared on Fox News today and took things so far over the line, host Chris Wallace ended up reaming him for it. But that part didn’t matter to Trump, who was clearly watching, and who decided that this Limbaugh quote was the one that mattered:

These guys, the investigators, ought to be in jail. What they have done, working with the Obama intelligence agencies, is simply unprecedented. This is one of the greatest political hoaxes ever perpetrated on the people of this Country, and Mueller is a coverup.

By tweeting this quote, Donald Trump is saying that the federal investigators in the Trump-Russia scandal should be in jail. This means, of course, that he’s worried about people on his side going to jail. We think he’s referring to Paul Manafort, with whom he cut bait a long time ago, or Roger Stone, whom he’s recently thrown under the bus.

We think Donald Trump is saying this because he thinks federal investigators are about to make the only arrests that can truly strike fear into Trump: his family. It’s not that he necessarily feels empathy for Donald Trump Jr or Jared Kushner, because malignant narcissistic sociopaths like him don’t tend to feel empathy. But such arrests would mean that Trump is next, and that he’s doomed. He seems to think his family is going to get popped rather soon.

1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Donald Trump | The Guardian: Donald Trump talks of ‘retribution’ after Alec Baldwin sketch on SNL

Parody about ‘faking’ national emergency hits nerve with president, who calls for Saturday Night Live to be investigated

Donald Trump has savaged Saturday Night Live as a “total Republican hit job” while calling for “retribution” and an investigation of the show after another unflattering portrayal of the president by Alec Baldwin.

Baldwin reprised his role as Donald Trump with blonde wig, characteristic pout and exaggerated imitation of the president’s speech-making style, for the show’s cold open on Saturday. This time the sketch parodied the president’s press conference in which he announced a national emergency over his plans to build a border wall with Mexico.

Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC! Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!

1. Trump from Michael_Novakhov (198 sites): Palmer Report: Last one out of the Donald Trump administration, turn out the lights

Donald Trump has always used up his criminal underlings and moved on from them more quickly than he goes through Big Macs, so it’s perhaps not surprising that he’s gone through political advisers just as quickly. What’s remarkable is that he’s struggled so badly to replace them. Now he has yet another major hole to fill, before he could even finish filling it the last time around.

Late last year, one day after she was caught up in an ethics scandal exposed by CREW, Donald Trump’s U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, abruptly announced she was going to resign. She then stayed on through the end of 2018 to give Trump time to replace her. But the best Trump could come up with is former Fox & Friends co-host Heather Nauert, who had absolutely no qualifications for the job. Now it turns out she’s running away from the job.

Last night Heather Nauert abruptly withdrew her own nomination, citing family reasons. That’s nearly always a cover for something else, and sure enough, by the time the night was over, multiple major news outlets were reporting that Nauert had illegally hired an immigrant as a nanny. Of course that’s surely a cover story as well. The complicit GOP Senate has confirmed Trump nominees with far bigger scandals. So something far uglier was surely about to surface about Nauert, and she hit the panic button, hoping that stepping off the stage on a Saturday night might prevent it from coming out.

Of course Nauert isn’t the real story here. It’s that when Nikki Haley went running for the exits amid scandal, Donald Trump couldn’t find anyone better than Heather Nauert who was willing to take the job. Now Nauert is also running away amid scandal, meaning that by default, Trump will end up nominating someone even worse than her. Or he could just not bother. He won’t be in office that much longer anyway. Last one out the door, turn out the lights.
