El por ciento de sequía moderada en la isla se mantuvo desde la pasada semana, mientras que el por ciento de sequía anómala mostró un leve descenso, según se desprende de los datos más recientes divulgados por el Monitor de Sequía de Estados Unidos.El informe, divulgado el jueves, precisa que el por ciento en sequía moderada se mantuvo en 10.35.Los municipios bajo este nivel de sequía son: Ciales, Morovis, Corozal, Naranjito, Toa Alta, Bayamón, Aguas Buenas, Caguas, Cidra, Cayey, Aibonito, Comerío, Barranquitas, Coamo y Orocovis.Asimismo, el informe indica que el por ciento de la isla que está en sequía anómala redujo de 59.37 a 58.99. El 41.01 por ciento del terreno no enfrenta condiciones secas.La mayoría de los pueblos de la zona noroeste de la isla están fuera de condiciones de sequía, a pesar que Rincón, Aguada, Moca y Añasco están sequía anómala.Según detalla el informe, la población estimada en áreas de sequía es de 342,613.
