If you’re not watching Donald Trump’s NBC town hall tonight, you’re not missing anything. Trump and host Savannah Guthrie have spent most of the time angrily yelling at each other. Trump has given embarrassingly incoherent answers about things like Q-anon and whether he was tested for coronavirus on the day of the debate.
But then Guthrie asked Trump who he owes the $421 million to. Trump went on a defensive, angry, shouting rant in response. Trump kept insisting that his debt doesn’t matter because he’s “under levered.” We think he meant to say under leveraged, but he must have said “under levered” at least five times in a row.
Trump just couldn’t stop ranting about how the people who leaked his tax returns must go to prison for it (the New York Times says it obtained them legally). Trump then began accusing Hillary Clinton and Russia of conspiring against him, as part of his explanation for why he was unwilling to say who he owes the $421 million to.
Considering he wasn’t even asked about Russia, Trump appears to have just defensively given away that he owes the money to Russia. Meanwhile, Joe Biden is nailing it over on ABC News.
